With Dynamic Thumbnails, your videos can play short looping previews that make your content stand out and boost engagement. This small motion gives users a glimpse of what’s inside, increasing click-through and watch rates.
In this article, you'll learn more about dynamic thumbnails, and how to set it on your player.
Why dynamic thumbnails are relevant for you?
- Increase engagement: moving previews attract more eyes and clicks than static images.
- Instant content insight: viewers immediately understand what your video is about.
- Seamless integration: generated on the fly by the player, optimized for performance.
How it works
- The preview is generated at runtime when the player loads
- The system captures approximately 3 seconds of footage for every 10 seconds of video.
You can embed a video using your Player ID: the thumbnail will automatically be replaced with a video preview.
How to enable dynamic thumbnails
- From your Dailymotion Studio, go to Embeds > Player.
- Under Player behavior, make sure Autostart is disabled.
- Go to Player interface section and toggle Dynamic thumbnail to enable it.
Once enabled, a short video preview will automatically replace the static thumbnail on the preview.
