AirPlay is an Apple technology which allows you to broadcast your video wirelessly from your Apple devices to your connected compatible devices.
AirPlay has been implemented within the Dailymotion Player, so you can use it to watch your content on bigger screens and additional devices.
In this article, you'll learn how to start an AirPlay session with our Player and how to interact with it.
Requirements
- The current protocol is AirPlay 2
- AirPlay is compatible on Apple TVs or smart TVs providing the AirPlay feature
Where can I use AirPlay?
As AirPlay is a proprietary solution, it is not possible to use it on all devices or browsers. AirPlay is currently only available on the following environments:

How can I start an AirPlay session?
To use AirPlay, devices (mobile/Mac to the Apple TV or smart TV) need to be connected to the same wifi network.
- Open Dailymotion
- Start a Dailymotion video
- Click on the button available on the Player
- Select your device and start your AirPlay session
The playback should start on your AirPlay device, and the interface should show you the content information.

The AirPlay session has started but the playback quality is not stable

We are using an adaptive bitrate technology which will automatically select the best video quality depending on the size of your screen, your internet connection, your device and the video quality available on the selected video. If the video does not buffer at playback speed, the video will be downgraded to a lower quality to keep the smoothest playback experience.
