Dailymotion has implemented different policies and mesures to protect personal data when a content or an account are considered as inactive.

Inactive content policy
Starting September 2024, we are updating our Terms & Conditions to implement an inactive content policy.
Affected content
The inactive content policy applies exclusively to content published on user and creator accounts. Enterprise accounts are not affected by this policy.
What is an inactive content policy?
When is a content considered inactive?
After 16 months without activity, your content will be considered inactive and will be archived for 3 months.
Once your content is archived, you won't be able to access it anymore, but it will still exist in our database.
While your content is archived, you still have the possibility to re-enable your content by contacting the Dailymotion Support team
What happens next?
After 3 months in archive, the inactive content is permanently deleted, along with all associated data (except for some specific data that we may be legally obliged to keep for a certain period of time). From then on, the content doesn't exist anymore in our database and cannot be recovered.
Inactive account policy
Since June 2021, Dailymotion has updated its Terms and Conditions to implement an inactive account policy.
Affected accounts
Accounts with uploaded content or active API keys are not impacted by the inactive account policy.
What is an inactive account policy?
In order to keep an active Dailymotion community and protect the personal data of our users, accounts with no activity for over 1 year may be deleted or reclaimed by Dailymotion without prior notice.
If you consider yourself as inactive or if you simply no longer wish to keep an open account on Dailymotion, you can also choose to proactively close your account directly from your Dailymotion Studio.
When is an account considered inactive?
After 1 year without activity, your account will be archived you won't be able to login into this account anymore on Dailymotion.com, Dailymotion Studio nor on the mobile applications.
You have the possibility to re-activate your account by contacting the Dailymotion Support team while your account is still archived (= 1 year).
What happens next?

Can I reactivate my archived account / content?
If you want to keep your content or your account and re-activate it, we invite you to contact our Support team from the email address linked to your Dailymotion account.
Please note that we can only re-enable your content or account if the content is still in our archive. If you're contacting the Support team after the archive period listed above, we won't be able to recover your account / content.
