What is Metadata AI?
Metadata AI generates titles, descriptions and hashtags on-demand, based on:
- Video language (set in the "Language" field).
- Your own inputs for context (at least 3 words).
- Video transcript (when available).
- Tone of voice selected.
Generate on-demand metadata with AI 
The AI action button is available on your Studio during the upload flow and on the video edit page:
Upload flow
AI-generated metadata is based on user input in the upload flow.
- From your Dailymotion Studio, go to Media > Videos > Add video.
- Add inputs in the title and description fields. AI requires at least 3 contextual words to work with, but we recommend adding more for better results.
- Click the AI button
If needed, you can:- Manually edit what has been generated by the AI.

Rewrite to generate a new attempt.
- Once you're happy with the result, complete the rest of the upload details.
Video edit page
On the video edit page, AI-generated metadata can be based on user input, or on the video transcript if available.
- From your Dailymotion Studio, go to Media > Videos > Select the video to edit.
If your video has a transcript
If a transcript is available on your video, the AI uses the transcript to generate metadata.
Good to know
If the description fields is empty: We'll automatically generate a description as soon as you land on the video edit page. If you like what's generated, click "Save" to apply the changes. If you leave the page without saving and come back later (while the description is still empty), a new description will be generated, the previous one won't be retained.
If your video doesn't have a transcript
If your video doesn't have a transcript, add at least 3 contextual words as input in the title and description fields. AI requires at least 3 contextual words to work with, but we recommend adding more for better results.
- Click the AI button
If needed, you can:- Manually edit what has been generated by the AI.

What languages can I generate video details in?
This feature supports all 183 languages currently available in the "Languages" dropdown field. It works best when a video transcript is available, and when the video includes substantial dialogue. Currently, Dailymotion automatically generates transcripts for videos in over 40 languages.

How do I know if my video has a transcript?
Dailymotion automatically generates transcripts for eligible videos.
You can check if your video has a transcript in Media > Videos > Select video > Subtitles.In this section, transcripts appear in this format: Language (AI-generated).
How do I know if my metadata was generated by AI?
AI-generated text appears in purple until you edit or save the content.
Can I edit AI-generated metadata?
Yes, you can edit AI-generated titles and descriptions.
Why is the AI button greyed out?
If the AI button is greyed out, this means that your video doesn't have a transcript, and you didn't add any contextual input: AI has no contextual information to generate metadata.
To solve this, add at least 3 contextual keywords to trigger the AI button.
