Dailymotion & Apps
New inactive content policy
Starting September 2024, we introduced a new inactive content policy:
- Content that hasn't been viewed or modified for 16 months will be archived in our database, but can still be recovered upon request.
- If no request is made within 3 months of archiving, the content will be permanently deleted from our database with no chance of recovery.
This policy impacts content published on user and creator accounts. It does not affect Enterprise accounts.

Discover the new React experience in-app
Our video comment feature called Reacts is now integrated in the comments section of our mobile app, making it easier for users to engage and join the conversation when scrolling comments.
Look for the round videos in the comments to watch other users' Reacts, or post your own in response to videos that caught your attention.
Try out Reacts on our Android and iOS mobile apps.
Swipe right to the new Discover view
Swipe right on the homefeed videos to access the new Discover view where you'll find a selection of videos related to the one you're watching. It is organized by sections and shows other videos from the same creator, videos using the same hashtags as well as similar videos recommended by our algorithm.
This new view helps users discover more content they might like while giving content creators the possibility to reach a wider audience.

The search bar on Dailymotion.com, and Android and iOS mobile apps has been improved to help you find what you need quickly by offering a clearer view of our entire catalog. You can now easily search for videos, playlists, users, live streams, and recently hashtags, from the search bar.

Progressive deprecation of legacy embed endpoint
Since September 23rd 2024, the legacy embed endpoint is being progressively replaced by the new one, providing better monetization and simplified custom Player management.
This deprecation is affecting several elements in our API and embed flow, which may impact your integration. To ensure you can migrate without disruption, we are introducing it progressively. Next step will happen on October 15th 2024 and will affect web embeds.
Please review the deprecation timeline and make sure to implement the necessary updates before due dates.
