Creating an account on Dailymotion allows you to get the most out of our services:

  • upload content
  • use our community features
  • build your own content library

In this article you'll find all the different account creation methods available at Dailymotion and their specificities.

Requirement

You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account on Dailymotion

Create your account with your email

Create your account

To create your Dailymotion account with your email from our application, you'll have to:

  1. Open the Dailymotion application and tap on the email field
  2. Fill your email address
  3. Create a password matching with our password policy
  4. Fill in your birthdate
  5. Set your personal data settings (for iOS users only)

Your account has now been created!

However, you must verify your account within 7 days after the account creation.
Follow the steps on the next tab Verify your email


Verify your email

You can verify your email directly within your app:
  1. Open your Dailymotion application
  2. Tap on the Verify your email banner displayed on your homefeed
  3. Type in the 6-digit code received by email
    Each code is valid for 3 hours
    If needed, request a new one by tapping on Resend code
  4. Click Continue

Your email has been confirmed!

You can finalize your account by customizing your profile so we are sure to show you personalised content in your homefeed.


Customize your account

  1. Open the app and tap on Profile dailymotion_profile_icon.png
  2. Tap on the Edit profile button to customize your account information: Profile picture, username, name

That's it, your account is now ready!

You can enjoy all the features available in the app:

  • Watch content from the different feeds
  • Reply to polls
  • Follow users, creators and media
  • Interact with the community with Comments and Reacts

Create your account with Google

Create your account

To create a Dailymotion account with your Google account from our mobile app, you'll have to:

  1. Open the Dailymotion mobile app
  2. Tap on the Google button, which will open a Google pop-up
  3. Sign-in with your email and password 
  4. Decide if you consent to provide the additional information required to create your account

Your account has now been created!

You can finalize your account by customizing your profile so we are sure to show you personalised content in your homefeed.

Create your account

To create a Dailymotion account with your Apple account from our application, you'll have to:

  1. Open the Dailymotion application
  2. Tap on the Apple button
  3. Tap on Continue to allow Apple to connect and sign-in with your Apple ID
  4. Fill in your birthdate
  5. Set your personal data settings

Your account has now been created!

You can finalize your account by customizing your profile so we are sure to show you personalised content in your homefeed.

Create your account with your email

Create your account

To create your Dailymotion account with your email from our website, you'll have to:

  1. Go to Dailymotion.com and click on the  dailymotion_profile_icon.png Sign up button in the top right corner
  2. Fill the form with your email address, password, date of birth and gender
  3. Read and accept our Terms of Use
  4. Click on the Sign up button

Your account has now been created!

However, you must verify your account within 7 days after the account creation.
Follow the steps on the next tab Verify your email


Verify your email

  1. If you closed the page, go back on Dailymotion.com and log in
  2. In the dedicated field, type in the 6-digit verification code received by email
    Each code is valid for 3 hours
    If needed, request a new one by clicking on Resend email
  3. Click Verify email

Your email has been confirmed!

You can now click on Continue to finalize your account by filling in the last required information.


Finalize your account

Now that your account has been verified, all you have to do is filling the last remaining information:

  1. Pick a username matching with the username policy written in the interface
  2. Fill in your lastname and surname
  3. Read and accept our Terms of Use
  4. Click on Create my account

That's it, your account is now ready, you can start enjoying watching content!

Create your account with Google

Create your account

To create your Dailymotion account with your Google account from desktop and mobile web, you'll have to:

  1. Go to Dailymotion.com and click on the Sign up button located on the top right corner
  2. Select the Continue with Google button, which will open a Google pop-up
  3. Sign-in with your email and password 
  4. Decide if you consent to provide the additional information required to create your account

As you're using the Google connect method, you don't need to verify your account, but we additional information are required to finalize your account.


Finalize your account

To finalize your account creation, you have the possibility to edit your username (possible only once):

  1. Hover on the profile picture in the top right corner
  2. Click on Settings > Edit my account > Username
  3. Pick a username matching with the username policy written in the interface
    Changing username is possible only once!
  4. Read and accept our Terms of Use
  5. Click on Update my account to save your changes

That's it, your account is now ready, you can start enjoying watching content!

I didn't receive the validation email on my inbox

Steps

Guidelines
Check your Junk folder

Your email provider may have automatically tag the email in your Junk inbox.

We invite you to check your Junk folder and search for the keyword Dailymotion
Resend the code

From your Dailymotion interface, click on the button Resend code to trigger a new validation code.

Please note that only the last code generated will work for your verification.
Contact Support

If you didn't receive the validation code on your main or junk inbox, and if the resend code button didn't work, we invite you to contact our Support team with the email address linked to your account.

I made a mistake on the email when I've created my account, can I correct it?

If you mispelled the email address, you will have to restart the sign-up procedure.

The first account created with the mispelled email address will be automatically deleted after 7 days.

My validation code has expired

For security reasons, activation codes are only active for 3 hours.

If your code has expired, we invite you to log in again and click on Resend code to generate a new one.

 

Unconfirmed account policy

You have up to 7 days after the account creation to confirm your email address.

After this period, if your email hasn't been verified, your account will be permanently deleted for security reasons.
