Create and manage hashtags on videos

In this article, you'll learn how to create and manage hashtags on your uploaded content as well as specifications for hashtags.

What are hashtags?

Hashtags are a list of words identified with a # symbol than can be added to your video in order to:

Categorize your content - Users can click on a hashtag to access a dedicated feed and browse new content sharing the same hashtag
Provide additional insights on the video content - Through hashtags, your audience can identify some elements that are available in the content they are about to watch
Improve your visibility - Users can search for a specific hashtag and browse through the dedicated hashtag feed

Log into your Dailymotion Studio, and go to Media > Video.
Click Add video > Selected video files to select and upload your video files, or drag and drop the files in the dedicated area.
During the upload, add your hashtags in the description field. Make sure to comply with the hashtag specifications (detailed at the end of this article).
Fill in all mandatory fields and click Save on the last step to publish your video.

That's it, you have now added hashtags on your newly uploaded content.

Open your Dailymotion app and log into your Dailymotion account.
Click on the + button in the app menu and select New video. You can select a file or record your content on the fly.
During the upload, define your hashtags in the dedicated field.
Click Post.

Open your Dailymotion app and log into your Dailymotion account.
Go to your Profile located at the bottom of your screen.
Depending on your content being public or private, follow the dedicated steps below:

If your content is public:

In your Public videos section, tap the menu on the video you want to edit, and select Edit.
Add / remove hashtags in the dedicated field.
Click Save your video.

If your content is private:

Length	Minimum 2 characters Maximum 25 characters
Spaces	Spaces cannot be included in hashtags. Every space input will create a new hashtag.
Special characters	Underscore ('_') (ie #hello_world) is allowed. Other special characters are not allowed.
Numbers	Allowed
Case sensitivity	All hashtags are considered as written in lowercase, which means that #Yellow and #yellow will be considered as being the same hashtag.
Limit	You can define up to 15 hashtags
Languages	All languages, except hindi
